Sanford and Son WikiWelcome to Sanford and Son, a wiki devoted to the now classic NBC-TV comedy series which was produced by Bud Yorkin and Norman Lear, who also brought you such clasic TV shows such as All In The Family, Maude, The Jeffersons, One Day At A Time, and Good Times!
Based on the BBC sitcom Steptoe and Son, which was produced and written by Ray Galton and Alan Simpson Sanford and Son premeired on January 14, 1972, and ended on March 25, 1977. Sanford and Son is about junk dealer Fred G. Sanford (Redd Foxx) and his son Lamont (Demond Wilson), who live in the South Los Angeles neighborhood of Watts. In 1973, Redd Foxx won a Golden Globe Award for his portrayal of the gruff, irascible, cantakerous Fred Sanford. Throughout its six seasons, the sitcom ran for 135 episodes. |
