Marguerite Ray also credited sometimes as Margueritte Ray (born March 18, 1931) appeared on the spinoff series Sanford as Evelyn Lewis a new love interest of Fred Sanford, as Lynn Hamilton elected not to revive the role of Donna Harris, Fred's fiancee from Sanford and Son. Instead, Evelyn, a widow, and Fred begin dating much to the dismay of Evelyn's snobbish brother Winston (Percy Rodrigues). She also made a guest appearance on Sanford and Son, appearing as a Fallen woman who tries to rent an room in the Sanford Arms from Fred in the episode titled "The Sanford Arms" in Seaason 5.

A veteran stage and TV actress, Marguerite has made appearances in numerous TV series in guest roles over the years, appearing on such shows as CBS's The Wild, Wild West (1969), ABC-TV's Bewitched (1969), NBC's The Bill Cosby Show (1969-70, 2 episodes), Barnaby Jones (1973), ABC-TV's Marcus Welby, M.D. (1973), Sanford and Son (1975-76, 2 episodes), Quincy, M.E.
