Sanford Arms was the name of the boarding house Fred G. Sanford (Redd Foxx) built on the NBC sitcom Sanford and Son, using the old house of his next-door neighbor Julio Fuentes (Gregory Sierra). It was the subject of the spin-off series The Sanford Arms, in which Phil Wheeler (Theodore Wilson) turned it into a hotel. The series failed miserably in the Nielsen ratings, getting canceled after only eight episodes.
Note: When Sanford. the second spinoff attempt with Redd Foxx as the star, premiered on NBC-TV during the 1979-80 season, the storyline for Sanford Arms was completely ignored.
