The Suitcase Case was the twelfth episode of Sanford and Son. It premiered March 31, 1972.
Lamont's daily haul of junk includes a tattered briefcase stuffed with stolen cash. Will Fred and Lamont decide whether to keep it or turn it over to the police before the crook it belongs to comes looking for it? Anyhow, by the time they've dismissed their fears, a tough-looking man (Gabriel Dell) shows up at their doorstep, gun in hand to recollect his ill-gotten booty (over $70,000) before the cops, Swanny and Smitty, who dropped by to check on Fred and Lamont after they conversed with the nervous Fred while at gunpoint. This is the episode sequence in which Fred "talks with his eyes", in which he is able to alert Swanny and Smitty of the bank robber!
